Building Industry Charitable Foundation

MISSION:
The mission of the Building Industry Charitable Foundation (BICF) is to integrate the charitable needs of our community with the philanthropic goals of the Home Builders Association of Louisville and its members.

In 2009 the Home Builders Association of Louisville’s social responsibility committee was granted 501 (c)(3) status. This non-profit status enabled our Association to formally create a foundation to which tax-deductible charitable contributions can be made, in addition to now being able to accept endowments and grants. Both members and non-members can give charitable tax donations to the BICF. We encourage members who routinely support a local charitable cause to consider donating to your Building Industry Charitable Foundation so that our industry can make a greater impact on community through the Foundation. Charitable gifts made to the Building Industry Charitable Foundation will be donated to deserving local organizations and charities, typically related to the building industry

CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS:
In the past, the Association has made charitable contributions to the following:

Habitat For Humanity, YouthBuild, the Beacon House, Dream Factory of Louisville, Cabbage Patch Settlement House, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), Apple Patch Community, Brooklawn Child & Family Services, Cerebral Palsy K.I.D.S. Center, Mattingly Center for Cerebral Palsey, the Home of the Innocents, Salvation Army Angel Tree, Hosparus, Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, Brooklawn Child & Family Services, VSA Arts of Kentucky and Council on Mental Retardation.

This year and in years to come, the BICF will explore additional opportunities to provide funding through the Foundation, including the possibility of creating a scholarship program. Each dollar donated to the Foundation will be used to support the mission of the Foundation.

2008-2009 Charity Donations:

1946 SOCIETY:
Please consider the BICF when you are making your charitable contributions. Consider stepping up to membership in the 1946 Society. Please give back to the construction industry through membership in the 1946 Society. We are able to help more people in the community by combining our resources than doing so on an individual level.
