Copyright Policy of Home Builders Association Louisville
The Home Builders Association of Louisville (HBAL) is committed to compliance with all state and federal copyright law pertaining to its use of copyrighted materials and its ownership and copyright of its own materials.
 
Definition of copyright:
            The HBAL recognizes and contractually attributes copyright of editorial to its freelance writers for all publications with the exception of the Homearama Plans Book and the Tour of Remodeled Homes Program. These copyright of editorial work in these two publications will be owned by HBAL. Additionally all illustrative work created by subcontractors is owned by HBAL. Copyright of all editorial created by HBAL staff is owned by HBAL.
 
Copyright shared with members:
            As it is in the interest of HBAL to promote its member/participants in Homearama and the Tour of Remodeled Homes, HBAL shares its copyright of illustrative and editorial work to the Registered Builders of Homearama and Registered Remodelors of the Tour of Remodeled Homes for work created specifically for those publications. These items only include the editorial, illustrations, and renderings used in the final production of the Homearama Plans Book and the Tour of Remodeled Homes Program.
 
Copyright of published work:
            The HBAL owns copyright to all of its publications as collections of work, Television Programs, and Produced Collateral and must provide express permission and/or receive compensation for use of copyrighted material. No reproduction, revision or likeness may be used without expressed permission from and compensation to HBAL.
 
Proprietary Information:
            HBAL’s past, present or future products, member and vendor lists, creative works, marketing strategies, pending projects and proposals, and other proprietary information which gives HBAL an opportunity to acquire an advantage over its competitors or political entities who do not know or use it shall be considered Proprietary Information of HBAL. HBAL shall protect the confidentiality of such Proprietary Information and all physical forms thereof. HBAL shall not disclose or disseminate the Proprietary Information to any third party.
